To Use a Template for Work Package Publishing

If you want to use a template for publishing, you need to define the template prior to creating the work package so that when you create the work package you can associate the template to it.

Template files can be downloaded, checked out, checked in and unlocked. Edits to these files do not affect the original templates and are unique to the current work package.

  1. Create a work package with the discipline and activity type that you want to publish.
  2. Open the newly-created work package and navigate to the Documents tab.
  3. Click Shared documents and turn on the files you want to include in the published PDF.
  4. Click Template documents.
  5. Select the Gear icon > Collect template documents.
    A list of templates displays.

The Collect template documents operation remains hidden after completion of the job to prevent overwriting the changes to the files.

  6. In the Template documents, turn on the template you want to associate to the work package.

See Template Options for the Administrator for information on creating additional template document classes, adding template documents and defining a default order for template files.

  7. Populate the work package with any other documents, reports, or Model shots.
  8. Publish the zip file.
  9. Order the contents of the PDF file.
  10. Save your changes.
  11. Click Publish PDF. Once the job completes you should have your final PDF containing your template documents and all other selected items.
